I haven't been using LJ much, still. It's just so slow on my computer, the only slow thing, that it's extra frustrating. Instead, I have all of my RPG windows open on GJ. I spend way too much time RPing on GJ lately, I think it's because I miss doing it in person, or you know, talking to people in general.

So, Woman? Next LeakeyCon I wanna see Pleisadapaforms (probably spelled wrong, but I'm too lazy to check in Primate Adaptation and Evolution) : What the fuck?. I'd so go to that. Also, yeah, I've added Cambridge to my list of grad school. That's gonna be fucking funny.

Ok! So, I've returned from Leakey!Con. I have just one thing to say.... LITTLE FOOT.

Being a SB student, I'd heard rumors about a near-complete Austrolopith in one of the South African caves for a while. Richard Leakey even mentioned seeing it.

BUT DUDE, seeing the images. FUCKING AMAZING. THAT HAND, JUST SEEING THAT ONE HAND. SO FUCKING AWESOME.

My resume may (or may not....not really) be on hold at a CRM firm working out of Baltimore, for when they have overnight-y jobs in the NJ through Virginia region. *hides*

I guess my last semester at SB actually did pay off, since I'm pretty sure that I'm a pretty good archaeo-package. I can claim GIS experience, and I've worked with stone-bone-and-pottery. Plus, I can draw. My lithics are better than the pottery, I promise. Fucking pottery.

Also, driving out at the ass-crack of dawn to LI might not be the best kinda-idea I've had (look above for a worse one). LeakeyCon starts fucking early in the morning. Alternate plans may need to be made, woman! And, SBers!

1. Frozen custard > any other type of ice cream.

2. New favorite anime : Ghost Hunt. Too bad there are only 25 episodes. Season 2, plz!

3. Magic Carpet Ride, while being an awesome song in general, is even better when associated with First Contact.

4. LEAKEY-CON, LESS THAN A MONTH.

5. I'm looking at 4 grad schools right now, and I'll be contacting the program people/professors in about a week, to allow for September chaos.

6. Anyone here think I'd make a good 7th Year (HBP) canon Neville? One of my mods is pestering me.

7. I hate that X-Men fandom has been dead for about five years, and now there's just one site left with all of the fic that once was spread out. Core X-Men, really, was dying when I first started reading all those years ago since that's when the community starting falling apart. X-Men fandom was never really centralized, but focused on several nodes across the internet, and one by one those nodes faded into dead websites. Right now, there isn't a X-Men fandom anymore, and I miss that. Every other fandom I can float in and out of, but I can't do that with X-Men anymore. *cries*

8. Last random fandom bit, but my favorite GW fic? It's 2x5x2. Seriously.

I've been doing a bunch of useless things lately, whee! Work is mostly mindless, with a side of hate, but it does give me the time to do other useless shite, basically what I've been up to.

I'm HP RPing. I have one girl in one game, and two girls in another. Note that one of those girls is fucking Professor Vector, and I can't do math to save my life. Fuck, I'm even WRITING HP again. And, from my current notes, something big and AU.

Some people may've noticed, but I haven't been playing CoH lately. And, I've actually tried, but my headaches've gotten worse, I think. I really can't take the graphics, at all, right now. Which totally sucks monkey balls. Fucking bright lights and all.

Really, all I need is to be in GW again and it'll be me from three years ago or some shite. (Mmmmm. GW.... )

So, I've signed up for Leakey-con, the with booze version. I cannot fucking wait!! I've also determined the best fancy-name for my (hopeful) focus. How does "Magenta studies the emergence of behavioral modernity in the genus Homo" sound? Does it qualify as an arch-word? I didn't make up any of them...

In other news, Crooked Little Vein is on the way. I'm currently in one HP RPG, and might be apping for two more. Yes, I'm that bored. I haven't been really writing again, but the RP tends to jumpstart that.

Oh! And while I haven't read DH yet, and I'm not sure if I want to, simply because I hate endings, but anyway. I had a wenchly crash course, and just have one thing to say out of everything that I've heard. WHY? WHY DID YOU GIVE THE BELLA/GINNY NUTTERS A BONE??

Holy FUCK. I was just looking at who's gonna be around at Leakey-con, and shit there are gonna be people there from the uni I'm looking at for grad school. Fucking sweet. This also means that they aren't one of the school's where being a SBer would be a minus for me. (Yes, I was kinda jumping around for a bit. Shut up.) I needs to e-mail people, oh yes. And, buy the +booze ticket (especially with the "discount" for signing up early.)

I mean, yeah, this isn't my exact thing, except being paleoarch/anth, but still!! (Cognitive-ish arch rocks when it's not done by morons.) I can't wait. So pumped. I'M SUCH A DORK.

Mmmmm. Shark week.

Hopefully, this year won't suck monkey balls, like last year did.

This is how I was going to spend my life, before getting sucked into archaeology. Marine biology, shark biology, shortfin mako hotness. Fuck, I even went to Maine for it, though yeah for a year. So, I love watching people who kept with it, and seeing their research. I wouldn't switch back, but I do find it interesting still. To think, in one future, I couldn't go on rants about Ardipithecus ramidus ramidus, and how Kadabba got the short end of the stick on that one. Freaky.

P.S. : I'd still want to punch Tim White, I just wouldn't know why. Bastard.

I've been in a poetry writing mood lately, which isn't my favorite form of being creative. I've been iconing again, which probably is the cause of the mood, since icons and poems come from the same image-snapshots for me. Icons, though, I'm better at judging, and just better at in general I think.

Poetry is also beta-less, not that I really use betas for my fic. Just, blargh. Wanna write stories again (and turn one super-shorty into an actual short story, I'm really in love with the image in there.).

Maybe I'll even kick start my creative journal (the dazzpher one) again. With a name like dazzpher, I don't have much to live up to. :P

No, I don't have the 7th book. Yes, I like spoilers. Yes, for some reason I've been reading HP fic, again, and possibly poking around the RPG search circles. Yes, I'm bored.

I also think I have a job. Went to the first interview, and have a second. It's retail, and part time, but the pay's pretty good and I get benefits, so all's good I guess. I gotta do more on the grad-school end, but DUDE, ASU has Curtis Marean, who's doing MSA work, and just DROOL. Drool I say!

Certain people should also fork out cash to play CoH. I mean, I'm a poor college grad, and have my accounts!

Ok. I'm in my new dorm now. I'm currently living, kinda-same quad, but basically the third floor of the guys' place. Which means, SINGLE! YAY!

I finally got around to reading "Child's Play : Reflections on the Invisibility of children in the paleolithic record" by Dr. Shea in Ev. Anth. Given that it's only five-pages and taken me a semester to get to = I'm lazy. Anyway, had to post this line from the paper, since it's fucking great, especially if you know how Dr. Shea got into grad school.

I need it to be Spring Break!

Need a week to not walk, since sudden warm weather = PAIN.

Need sleep, since I've gotten back to not even hearing my alarm. I wake up in time, but at the "RUN" point. And, it isn't even a "what time I crash" deal, just I could go to bed a 9 and have the same thing happen.

My tummy has been randomly exploding, due to my off-kilter eating schedule.

Still recovering from ICON, and all of the shit involved there. Next year : making a "What a TL does during the con" flyers for everyone to read.

Still not talking to people due to above.

Oh, and my dorm smells so heavily of Raid, my eyes are constantly tearing, thank's to moron next door leaving food in her roomie's bed, leading to bed being covered with ants by the time she came back to school after the weekend.

Also, it was my fucktard roomie who stole my pants. Fucking hate her.

I am being very good, and not posting a rant to the 4m comm concerning the post on how we should trust the older forumites, at I-CON. On how things don't get stolen, broken or puked on during the convention, obviously.

Hm...maybe another post should be made, detailing the current rule of the 4m concerning keys, which is if a keyholder isn't in the room, sometimes allowing for a person in the library if they're at the desk, the 4m is closed. People leave, and the door is closed until a keyholder arrives.

But, I guess we should just forget this for I-CON. Because, the people who don't know this RULE of the CLUB should be allowed full access.

Fun fact to know :: when the locks are changed in the dorms, the locksmith does not put up the signs, or hand out the keys. So, if a locksmith doesn't tell the quad office that they lock has been changed, they don't know about it.

I learned this half an hour ago, when I went to get the new key for my dorm, since my fucktard roomie lost her's two weeks ago, and there was NO RECORD OF OUR LOCKS BEING CHANGED. This means, NO KEYS. AT ALL.

I FUCKING HATE THIS SCHOOL.
